Dr. Rosemurgy has cared for patients in the Greater Tampa Bay Region for nearly 30 years. He has focused on complex conditions of the foregut, including esophageal, liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic disorders and diseases. He has focused his practice of Surgery on gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), achalasia, esophageal cancer, liver tumors, liver cancers, bile duct injuries, bile duct strictures, bile duct cancers, and pancreatic cancers.

He has been very active in continuous quality improvement of surgical care. To this end, some of his databases include the largest patient series in the world. He has written extensively about these areas (please see his curriculum vitae).

His dedication to improving surgical care also shows in his continuous pursuit of minimally invasive approaches for his patients. He has extensive experience in Laparo-Endoscopic Single Site (LESS) Surgery. LESS surgery means that patients can now undergo conventional laparoscopic operations with “NO SCAR”.

He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his exemplary work in foregut surgery (please note the awards he has received). He is a thought leader in American Surgery.

As of 2011, he has operated on more than 17,000 patients and professionally cared for innumerably more. His accomplishments are not only a measure of his work, but also of his care for and commitment to the well-being of his patients.
